Henries 2015 – Tiddly Pom Pom
The most exciting news of the summer came on hearing that Tiddly Pom Pom, our favourite little characters produced for Paper Rose, had been lucky enough to make it to the final 6 ranges in the ‘Best Cute’ categories of the Henries!! Having just completed my second year of freelancing, this news was the perfect anniversary treat and put the biggest possible smile on my face (I may have jumped up and down a little!!!!) The news made even more exciting when the wonderful Paper Rose invited me to join them to the awards evening, a 1920’s themed ball full of glitz and glamour to mark the 20th Anniversary of the Henries. A perfect excuse to treat myself to a sparkly new dress for the occasion.
Following a lovely afternoon at the V&A, seeing the gorgeous Fabric of India exhibition (MUCH recommended!) we got glammed up and over to the awards and my first ever Henries experience! The night was fantastic!! Everyone looked brilliant and the whole evening confirmed to me what a wonderfully fun and friendly industry the greetings card world is! I got to catch up with some old friends and make some new ones! I also got to spend the day with the lovely and super-talented Clair Rossiter who had made it to the finalists for Most Promising Young Designer Or Artist. Check out her fabulous work here.
Unfortunately no win for Tiddlies this year, we had some tough competition! Up against Tiddly Pom Pom were:
Big Bear Hugs from Abacus Cards
Cats In Hats from Jo Clark Design
Mischief from I Drew This
Stripey Dogs from Stripey Cats Cards
Little Creatures from Pippi & Me. Gorgeous little creatures picking up the award.
A fab evening full of gorgeous food, lots of bubbles, music and brilliant company….. Fingers crossed and hope to see you all again next year!
